As the weather warms up, thunderstorms are more likely to occur. Seeing how severe recent storms have been, there is always a possibility that flooding can be the outcome as well as other side effects. According to the Chicago Tribune, Monday’s storm caused at least 850,000 customers to lose power in Gurnee. ComEd Chairman Frank Clark vowed that everyone across the region would have power restored by Saturday.
ComEd has reached out to states across the country for help. These include Kansas, Florida, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Alabama. The utility’s priority is currently to restore power to “life-safety” customers, such as hospitals and nursing homes, and then focus on the surrounding areas.
